CarrierPoint: Masquerading as a Carrier User
In order to allow Nucor to assist carriers with questions and/or problems they are having with CarrierPoint, shipper users have been granted the ability to masquerade as a carrier user.
This access is meant to allow Nucor teammates to have visibility to what the carrier sees in order to help troubleshoot. We should never perform any actions while masquerading as a carrier user, even if the carrier "asks" us to. Our visibility is provided so that we can instruct them on how to accomplish what is needed.
It is also important to note that what we see when masquerading is a snapshot of the user's setup when the masquerade user is created, and therefore may not reflect a carrier user's current setup.
To masquerade as a carrier user:
- Click the Logout button in the upper right-hand corner of any page
- On the Logout Confirmation page, use the drop-down menu to select the desired carrier user
- Not all carriers/carrier users are included in the list available to Nucor, as carriers are added only on an as-needed basis. If there is a new carrier user that you would like to be able to masquerade as, please contact CarrierPoint Support for assistance.
- The screen will re-direct to the carrier user's home page and will then allow you access to navigate to the extent that the user has permissions.
- If the carrier user's profile was not completed at the time the masquerade account was created, the screen will redirect to the My Profile page. You do not need to set this. Simply navigate to the desired page.
Once you have finished assisting the carrier, you will need to return to the shipper side.
- Click the Logout button in the upper right-hand corner of any screen
- Click the link "switch back to your main user"
