CarrierPoint: Adding New Shipper Users
Each division has at least one teammate with permissions who can create new user accounts as needed. The below outlines how to do this. However, if preferred, you may also reach out to NLG Help to request assistance with this.
Let's start off with few general comments:
- There is no limit on the number of users that Nucor can have.
- We recommend using individual log-ins rather than generic, shared accounts. This will allow better tracking and traceability for actions taken within the system.
- Be sure to set the appropriate user group for each new user you create. (Everyone shouldn't be a Mill Administrator.)
- Always check to confirm the teammate doesn't already have a log-in before creating a new one
To create a new user account:
- Go to Setup ... User Setup ... Users
- Search the existing user list to verify that a user with the same or a similar name does not already exist. Be sure to check both Active and Inactive users!
- If a user already exists for the person in question but their user account is inactivate, do not create a new log-in. Simply reactivate the user account and reset their password. Detailed instructions can be found in the article on Updating Shipper User Accounts.
- Once you've confirmed a user account doesn't already exist, click the "+" button to add a new one
- Enter information on the User Setup page (the below highlights the fields that are required)
** Do not check boxes for "Automatically give this user access to newly-added locations" or "Allow users from the partner company to masquerade as this user"
- Click the Save button
- You will be directed to the Assign Work Locations screen. Update according to the visibility that will be required.
- Click the Save button. This will automatically activate the user account.
