CarrierPoint: Placing A Bid
Loads that are available for a carrier can be found on the View Load Tenders page, using the filter Show Loads = "All Available" and Posted in the last = 3 months. The word "bid" shown in the action column indicates that the carrier will need to quote. Spot bid submissions are applicable for that single shipment only.
A link is also shown on the top of the Respond to Offers page when loads are available for bidding.
To place a bid on a load shown as available:
- Click on the "BID" link
- Select the Bid Type you will be using. Note that not all Nucor divisions accept all types of bids, so the options available for bid type may be different from one division to the next.
If you are entering a Per Mile bid, remember Nucor pays carriers based on the miles published on our loads. Please do not base your costs on miles shown in your system or on your routing.
- Specific instructions regarding whether to include fuel surcharge are shown in the yellow line at the top of the response box. Be sure to bid appropriately.
- Enter the dollar amount you are requesting.
- Click "Submit"
Once submitted, Nucor will review the bid and will respond either by declining it or awarding it. There are notification options available on your My Profile page so that you can receive a notification alerting you whether your bid has been accepted, declined, or that Nucor added a comment requesting further information. Nucor recommends that these notifications be enabled if you are actively participating with spot bids.
You may also review the status of your bid by clicking on the "responses" link (visible after a bid has been placed).
NOTE:
Some divisions provide visibility to pick-up appointment availability prior to placing a bid. If enabled for a given division, an “Appointments” link will be shown at the bottom of the screen. Click this link to next available appointments.
