CarrierPoint: Scheduling (or claiming) Collect Loads
Customers may contract directly with a carrier to pick up shipments from a Nucor facility. Although these loads are dispatched by the customer, it is still necessary for the carrier to schedule a pickup appointment at the Nucor facility.
Nucor provides a way for carriers to schedule these appointments using CarrierPoint.
- Carriers may always call the division's traffic department to schedule the appointment
To Schedule A Loading Appointment - for carriers with a CarrierPoint account:
- Go to www.tms.intellitrans.com
- Log in with the appropriate user name and password
- Go to Schedule --> Schedule Unclaimed Appt
- Enter the load number provided by the customer and the pickup city in the appropriate fields. Click the "Continue" button.
- If the load is available to be scheduled, it will appear below. Click the "select" link.
- Contact the Nucor division for assistance if the load cannot be found.
- Select the date and time desired from the drop-down menus and click the "Submit" button.
- Only available timeslots are offered
- If you are brokering the load to another carrier, please enter the end carrier in the Brokered To Carrier box.
- The load is now successfully scheduled.
The load will appear on the View Load Tenders page under Show Loads: Not Picked Up, along with other loads assigned/awarded to you.
- If it is necessary to reschedule or to cancel the load appointment, this can be handled in the same manner as appointments on other loads.
- A "re-sched" link is available under Actions on View Load Tenders (as shown above)
- A "Cancel" link is available on View Shipment Detail (inside) in the Pickup section
To Schedule A Loading Appointment - for carriers without a CarrierPoint account:
Carriers that do NOT have a CarrierPoint account will need to provide company information and contact details
- Go to http://schedule.carrierpoint.com
- Complete the form
- Enter the name of the person scheduling the appointment
- Enter the name of the carrier that will be picking up the load
- Enter a valid contact phone number
- Enter a valid contact email
- Check the "I'm not a robot" box
- Select Nucor Steel as the Shipper from the drop-down list
- Click the "Schedule Appointment" button
- Enter the load information provided by the customer and the pickup city in the appropriate fields. Click the "Continue" button.
- If the load is available to be scheduled, it will appear below. Click the "select" link.
- Contact the Nucor division for assistance if the load cannot be found
- Select the date and time desired from the drop-down menus and click the "Submit" button.
- Only available timeslots are offered
- The carrier name is shown in the Brokered To Carrier field
- The load is now successfully scheduled. The DSM number for the pickup appointment is provided in blue at the top of the page. Please make note of this, as it may be required by the division when the driver arrives to check in for their appointment.
- If it is necessary to reschedule or to cancel the load appointment, repeat steps 1-2 above. The load will be shown with links allowing for rescheduling or cancelling the appointment if the action is still valid.
