CarrierPoint: Accepting a Load Bundle (Carrier View)
In some circumstances, Nucor may choose to tender multiple loads together as a "package". In these cases, acceptance of the load bundle indicates that you are agreeing to move all loads included in the load bundle. Costs associated with the load bundle will be based either on the sum of applicable rates for all loads included OR a total amount bid by the carrier.
Please note that bundling affects only how the loads are tendered. Unless specified otherwise, each load maintains its individual status and moves through the normal load process independently (scheduling, gating, delivery, and payment). There is no inherent requirement to use the same driver/vehicle to move the loads in the bundle. Bundling simply means that the carrier is accepting responsibility for moving all loads included in the "package".
When a load bundle has been created, this will be indicated with a "B" icon shown on each individual load. Information regarding other loads included in the bundle can be seen by clicking on the "B" icon to expand the view.
If the load bundle is awarded, each load will show the cost associated with that individual movement.
- If existing rates are in place, the cost for each load will be calculated based on the specific load parameters.
- If a bid is awarded, the cost for each load will reflect the apportioned cost based on mileage. (If load A represents 35% of the total miles for the bundled loads, load A will reflect 35% of the total amount bid for the bundle.)
Accepting or bidding on load bundles uses the same process as is used on individual loads.
