CarrierPoint: Finding Loads that Require Delivery Information
Nucor requires carriers provide confirmation of delivery in CarrierPoint before payment of the freight invoice can be processed.
CarrierPoint provides multiple ways for carriers to easily identify the loads where delivery information is outstanding.
The easiest option is via a link on the Home page.
This is found in the main Nucor Steel billboard message, underneath the fuel surcharge and fiscal calendar:
When you click this link, you are taken to the Provide Delivery Confirmation Report page. This provides a listing of all the loads where a delivery confirmation has not yet been entered. These results can be download to Excel or you can work the list directly from this page by clicking on the "Provide Delivery Conf and/or POD" link for each line. The link will open the delivery confirmation page in a new tab, so that you don't lose your place on the list.
Loads that need delivery information can also be found using the filters available on the View Load Tenders page, as outlined below:
- Show Loads = In Transit
- Posted In the Last = 3 Months*
- Sort By = Expected Delivery Date
This option also allows you easy access to enter the required information for each load, by simply clicking the 'deliver' link located in the far-right column of the results.
Sorting by Expected Delivery Date will help ensure that the oldest loads are shown at the top of the results.
Nucor also recommends that you periodically select Loads Posted in the Last = 1 Year to make sure there aren't loads which may have fallen outside the normal timing parameters. This is especially important for divisions which are entering loads into CarrierPoint in advance of the anticipated ship date (e.g., Skyline).
If you are partnering with a division that requires a copy of the signed POD be uploaded as welll, there is an additional filter option for attachments that can be very helpful. (See screenshot above.) If working with multiple divisions, it's possible that only one or two might require PODs be uploaded. In this case, including an Origin City as an additional filter can help narrow down results to effectively show the just the loads where an action is needed.
These filters aren't default settings, so you may need to add this to their Quick View box. Once it has been added, the selector box will remain there unless you intentionally remove it.
To add filters to the Quick View box (such as Attachment Options):
- Click the "configure" link at the top of the Quick View box
- Scroll down through the list of options to find the listing for Attachment and click to select the box.
- If desired, you can click the 'up' or 'down' link on the various filter options to re-order the fields in the Quick View box.
- Continue scrolling down to the bottom of the page and click the "Finished" button
There is also a report version of the Provide Delivery Confirmation page that can be scheduled to be delivered via email.
This option doesn't provide a direct method for resolution, but it may be useful for accounting teams or others who are tasked with monitoring such items.
To schedule the report:
- Go to Analyze ... Custom Reports
- Scroll down through the options to find Provide Delivery Confirmation Report
- Click the "schedule" link
- Enter the parameters for the report
- Click the Submit button
As a reminder, your email address must be verified in CarrierPoint in order to receive scheduled reports.
