CarrierPoint Scorecards: Carrier Service Level Calculations
Carrier performance is evaluated using a percentage-of-occurrences method, to help ensure a level playing field for both high-volume carriers and smaller carriers.
Each carrier is assigned a Service Level that reflects how well they performed on loads during the review period:

The numeric score value associated with each Service Level allows these performance results to be used to determine tender order for freight offers.
The Raw Score is calculated as follows:
- Percentages are determined by dividing the number of occurrences in each category by the corresponding total load count
- Pickup Performance is measured against the total loads in all pickup categories
- Positive Feedback is measured against # Loads Awarded
- Exceptions are measured against the # Loads Awarded
- Delivery Performance is measured against the total # Loads Shipped
- Violations are measured against the total # Loads Shipped
- Each percentage is multiplied by the defined weighting for the metric
- Default weighting has been established based on feedback from divisions across the enterprise
- Divisions can set variables and weighting differently from the default, depending on operational needs
- Care should be taken to balance the need for a divisional difference with the need to maintain a consistent landscape across our carriers
- The resulting values for each section are summed to arrive at a Raw Score
- If a carrier has no accepted no load offers during the report period, the service level will be shown as "N/A - No Volume"

The detailed calculations are available for Nucor teammates to view within the carrier scorecard itself by clicking on the Calculations tab. The Grading Weight section provides information about the specific variables and weighting in place for the division.
